Dr Jessica Luzhansky

Dr Jessica Luzhansky is an ophthalmologist with experience in general medical and surgical eye care. She has a particular interest in the treatment of cataract, glaucoma, eyelid abnormalities including skin cancer and eyelid reconstruction, tear drainage and lacrimal system abnormalities, thyroid eye disease, and orbital infections, inflammation, and trauma.

Dr Luzhansky completed secondary school in the USA. Her details were published in Who’s Who Among American High School Students, an honour awarded only to the top 0.5% of students in the entire USA.

Dr Luzhansky graduated from Monash University in 1998 with honours and was the recipient of the Sophie Davis Prize and gold medallion for the top graduating student in medicine. She also received numerous other prizes including three Faculty of Medicine Prizes for being the top student each year. She was also a Golden Key National Honours Society member during her training.

Dr Luzhansky underwent her ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital, where she remained to complete her Oculoplastics Fellowship.

Dr Luzhansky has attended numerous local, interstate, and international conferences. She has undertaken ophthalmological research, and has published in scientific journals. She enjoys teaching, and has done several years of both undergraduate and post-graduate clinical optometry teaching, as well as teaching medical students.

She provided volunteer services in a Salvation Army missionary hospital in Zambia, Africa. She hopes to provide ongoing care to underdeveloped nations.

Dr. Luzhansky speaks fluent Russian.
