Dr Ehud Zamir MD FRANZCO
Dr. Ehud Zamir is a fellowship-trained specialist ophthalmologist. He specialises in the medical and surgical treatment of Inflammatory Eye Diseases such as uveitis and scleritis. He is also experienced in comprehensive General Ophthalmology, including the surgical treatment of cataract and pterygium.
Ehud studied medicine in the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel. He won the Dean’s awards for his academic achievements throughout his 6 years in medical schools. He then did internship and specialty training in ophthalmology in Hadassah University Hospital, Jerusalem and passed his specialty exams with high distinction. He has been a specialist ophthalmologist since 1998.
He later completed a 2-year fellowship in ocular inflammation and pathology in the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, under the guidance of Professor Rao, one of the world leaders in the field. Ehud has published over 50 scientific articles and book chapters and has lectured extensively in international and local conferences. He is active in the Australian and international academic community in his field.
In 2003, Ehud moved to Melbourne, became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and was appointed as the director of training for RANZCO for the state of Victoria. He has been working at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital as well as several private practices in Victoria and Tasmania. He has been teaching medical students and ophthalmology registrars for many years. Ehud speaks fluent Hebrew and basic Arabic. back to doctor list
